Commitment to Dignity Whether a member chooses to serve as a chapter officer, or represent AOII as a member of other campus or community organizations, there are numerous opportunities to develop leadership skills as a member of AOII. Commitment to Scholarship AOII encourages all members to excel academically and has many programs designed to assist women in achieving their academic goals. Expectations are high but the support provided by scholarship programs, academic development officer resources, and fellow members makes success attainable. Commitment to College Loyalty From collegiate years on through alumnae involvement, the reason AOIIs continue service is the joy of spending time together and sharing the insights learned from the relationships we build and sustain. My name is Gabriella Gately and I serve as Alpha Rho’s chapter president for the 2020 year. I am currently in my third year here at Oregon State University as well as it is also my third year as a member of Alpha Omicron Pi. I can confidently say that through AOII I have gained the confidence and ambition I have always dreamed of having. My sisters have pushed me to be the best student, sister, friend, and leader these past couple of years and I am so grateful for each and every one of them. I would like to thank you for taking the time to learn more about our chapter on our very own website! Since being re-chartered at Oregon State University in 2014 I have had the privilege to see how far Alpha Rho has grown just in these past couple of years. As members of Alpha Omicron Pi, we live through our four core values: Character, Dignity, Scholarship, and College Loyalty. Being an AOII women means we live our lives inspiring ambition not only in ourselves, but also in the people we surround ourselves with. We take pride in our involvement in our chapter, philanthropic events, and on the OSU campus. Just from the start of this year, we have been involved with raising money or donating items to Special Olympics Oregon, CARDV, Make a Wish, and our own philanthropy the Arthritis Foundation. And may your descendants in Alpha Omicron Pi bring to you the glory that you yourselves are to us today! Stella, Jess, Helen, and Bess became determined that their friendship should last a lifetime. On December 23, 1896, the four climbed the stairs in a small gallery of the old Columbia College Library which led to an old and seldom used room. On January 2, 1897, Alpha Omicron Pi was formally organized at the home of Helen St. Clair.
